Long Island Farm Bureau has two types of membership:
Regular Members: Those engaged full-time in the business of producing agricultural products. Our Regular Members decide exactly what public policy issues the Bureau will address in its government relations and lobbying efforts.
Associate Members: An important category of membership in LIFB for individuals and businesses who support our ideals and efforts and want to help preserve and protect our rural way of life.
Associate membership offers non-farmers, including many in related industries (for example, landscaping, nurseries, retailing, services, others) the opportunity to be part of an organization dedicated to supporting and enriching the rural way of life, an organization whose resources benefit every land-owner, and not just farmers. Your involvement in Long Island Farm Bureau strengthens the organization’s efforts to protect your rights and the rural way of life that we all cherish and want to preserve.
We urge you to support those efforts by joining Long Island Farm Bureau as an Associate Member. Together, we can work for the betterment of all rural Long Islanders.
Please contact the membership office of Long Island Farm Bureau for more information on how to become a member.

All Long Island Farm Bureau members are also members of the New York Farm Bureau
The Issues That Long Island Farm Bureau has in focus:
• Protection of Private Property Rights - Opposing laws seeking to limit an owner's right to use land
• Affordable taxes - Working for fiscal reform
• Ensuring the Safety of the Food Supply - Supporting scientific approaches to pest control, significantly reducing pesticide use
• Protecting Our Environment - Supporting recycling, use of bio-degradable products and funding for solid waste and water quality efforts - active environmentalism, not environmental activism. |
